Frequently Asked Questions
Questions before ordering? Check here first!

Q Where are you located?
A We are located in Washington state across the Puget Sound from Seattle about 50 miles as the crow flies. Click here for more information.

Q What are shipping costs?
A Shipping costs are based on weight for the most part though you have the option of using the Priority Mail Flat rate box that takes only 2-3 days and can hold over 10 lbs. The flat rate envelope can hold up to 2 lbs of beeswax and only costs $4.80 plus modest handling. The flat rate box is $9.80 and can hold up to 10 lbs. Fedex home delivery is the same as Fedex ground but delivers to residential addresses. It is comparable in cost and delivery time to parcel post.

We strive to ship in under 48 hours and most shipments go out same or next day ordered.

Q How much beeswax do I need?
A When melted 1 lb of beeswax become one pint. So one ounce by weight equals one fluid ounce. For larger projects there is 8 lbs per gallon melted.

Q What are some tips for candle making?
A Always use a double boiler to slowly warm the wax. This insures the wax doesn't burn or risks a fire hazard. We have had the best luck pouring candles where the wax is not too hot. Just over the melting point between 150 and 165 degrees. Hotter temperatures can cause cracking or can be difficult to release from the mold. We find silicon molds work the best to release candles because they stretch. Using mold release that is offered at most craft stores is also helpful, I have also heard of good results with cooking spray.
